Two-wheeler Schumis

These teenage kids zip around the roads between Wadi Kabir, Ruwi and Muttrah areas in the evenings, and cause a great bit of inconvenience to car drivers. Most of the time, they trespass into the highway and cause a flutter by their helter-skelter riding skills. Not content with highway, they often stay into pavement next to the highway. Call it adrenaline rush or teen passion, they are surely putting their lives at risk. Where are the ROP guys?

Many deaths has happened because of it.
In one case, the R.O.P was chasing a kid on a bike then the kid went into an accident and died.
The police who were chasing the kids were sued because apparently the kid was from some kind of a wealthy family. I am not sure what happened after that...

I would imagine that a responsible group like the HOGS http://blog.omanholiday.co.uk/blog/Photos/_archives/2007/11/23/3371337.html feel horrified that their group act responsibly and the youngsters are in effect allowed to break innumerable laws with impunity quite apart from the lives endangered or taken away (no helmets ). On one occassion in Ibri I saw 4 boys on 1 motor bike

I Hate those kids. I was so elated when after the cyclone the neighbouthood kid's Quad bikes ceased to function.

My delight was short lived because thier parents went out and bought them (the kids are like, 12?) mopeds and small motorcycles. the kind that sound a lot like a loud hairdryer when blazing past your bedroom windows at four AM.

I blogged about the ROP and quad bike incident on my blog, maybe back in February of 07. WHat blew me away was that the ROP were the ones who were blamed for the accident. Not the kids on the illegal Quads, and not the underage, unlisenced, driver that hit and killed them.

Unbeliveable.
