OmanTel's 8 Mbps ADSL

Does anyone have any idea about the new 8 Mbps and 16 Mbps ADSL packages OmanTel is offering?

The ad above was posted by someone on Sablat Oman (omania2.net), but unfortunately when I checked OmanTel's website it has nothing mentioned about these offers.

Any idea? information? recent news from OmanTel?

Wow, if that's true I'm so jealous of you guys, I might just have to move to Oman ;-) Here in UAE we're stuck with 4MBps tops. I hope if those are real, that you get a good boost in upstream speed too.

16 Mbps will not work with normal ADSL lines...it would need ADSL2+ for that...and ADSL2+ uses different modems from normal ones...

The 8Mbps line is going to cost close to 100 rials a month from what I hear.

All will be clear when the packages are announced tonight and in the press tomorrow.

Wow, it's about time people start posting in this Blog :p

Dude, if it's 100 rials... damn! Too expensive, in my opinion. We'll have to wait and see. I know somebody who has attended the event which is held at the moment as we speak. I will try to let you guys know about it before tomorrow (I stress "try").

I've just been told about the packages Omantel will offer (I am sure Muscati knows about them).

I've also been told that the prices will be revealed on the 1st of May so no real information has been shared yet.
