As far as I know Oman's smallest currency denomination is the 5 baisa. What's up with this pricing?

Twister said...: There should be some regulation governing the rounding off to multiples of 5 of odd figures...171 baisas for juice is unusual...it is normal for produce like fruits/vegetables to get odd figures as prices...

Interestingly, they also had big signs up at the checkout stating that because of the shortage of coins available they would no longer be giving change in coins!!!! I assume it was just a one day issue?; January 11, 2008 at 12:58 PM
