Is it only me, or life is really weird

For some reason bumping into weird objects has become a normal thing into my life. I guess strange and weird should be my last name. I intend moving along with my camera these days, afraid that I’ll miss something or not capture the moment. So I’m walking innocently in our most famous area in Oman (Al Sarooj) minding my own business in this heat UNTIL….

There IT was. Something I can’t name, I was confused. Is it a bird (*I said to my self*)? A guy wearing fur? Girl with a dishdasha? Girl being a guy or a guy being a girl? Uhhhhhh (shouted confused)...

My stories don’t end at weird, it always gets weirdER and weirdER at the end… Here you go...

I ran into to a hidden corner (MY CAMERA) thank God it’s in my bag. Took my weapon out of my tinny bag and started with the crime. At that stage I realized it was a he (lelasaf) HIS HAIR IS STRAIGHTER THEN MINE and maybe even longer. Uhhhhh
If you are wondering how I took this picture I stood there for almost two hours, trying to get the right angle and I zoomed X12. It took me a while until I discovered this object was a tarararaaaaaaa….

A fashionable MOTAWA3 on the run…

Elagante style….
Hi all. Hope I don’t offend any one by my posts. This is only my personal opinion and the way that I exaggerate in things. As I was told, you can always understand but you don’t have to always agree…
I must admit I never had a passion towards Oman until I lived in its beautiful lands. I am proud of being an Omania and so proud to write in this particular blog (OMAN COMMUNITY BLOG).

Enjoy,

Elagante...

I'll say..

That guy looks like he hasn't cut his hair in a DECADE. Why do Omanis like to let their hair grow that way?

Hmmmm :P

Poor women must be green with envy ;o)

hala,

LOL, now this is something was not expected!

Is this some new version of being liberate in being a Muslim...

I shall admit that it is intresting thing to see, although if i was there i would have been staring at him all the time!

Sleepless: I guess many girls will envy that guy in the street :D

Great post Elagante!! Posts like this - having LIVE pictures of the Omani Community - are always interesting and what the readers of Oman Community Blog will be looking for.

Sadly, the phenomenon has become common these days. Whether in Oman or outside Oman. It's very sad that they don't only keep their hairs long, but actually do them in hairdressers just like girls! Yes, I understand that everyone is free to do whatever he wants to do with his looks or hair, but this is just sick!

The hair of a guy in our school is just like this guy, but a bit shorter. It's kind of gay actually.

BTW, are you serious about standing there for two hours? =p LooL or you were just exaggerating?

I didnt have a haircut for like 3 months and my hair was all over the place...in frustartion i went to the hairdresser and asked her (the only male hairdressers I've seen so far in Melbourne are in the muslim-concentration area of brunswick, which is an hour of a train ride away) to make my hair "a bit shorter while keeping the same hairstyle"...and guess what...she grabbed a clipper and off went 3 months of haircare....lolz...

Sleepless,
Wallah I asked my self the same Q, I think he has serious issues man. No other explanation. Green I’ve passed the green stage, I’ve turned BLACK already…

Solafa,
Staring… Maskeen I think ‘6arabtoo 3een min el staring. U know the sad part is that those are the ppl we call the face of Islam in the out side world, being liberate is a personal thing but not to the extend that you’ll effect others image.

Amjad, thanks ;)
You know I’m really not the tip that cares if the girl is in a 3abaya, with shorts, boy cut or if the guy has a long hair, an earring or a skirt (that would look funny though). But the thing that really upsets me is when some one wears my traditional clothes and disrespects it. Having a dishdash and a ga7feya says to all I’m an Omani and Omanies acts like me. So simply respect what you’re wearing because you are representing your country, culture and tradition. Wel’3eeba enah mo6awa3 that means he represented Islam 2… Pity…

Lol and Amjad wallah in this heat it did feel like two hours but I seriously didn’t time it :P

Twister,
I like her give me her number, might pass it to this dude and do us a favor…

Yeeaaaah... Bitchin.

It's like a muttawa mullet. Maybe underneath the dishdasha he's rocking a metallica tshirt.

nice pic, and big props (or in white folk speak, praise) for being the first to post one.
