Khareef Salalah Festival 2007

On the eve of July 15th, 2007, the Salalah Khareef Festival 2007 is launched for more than 45 days until 31st August, 2007.

This year's festival bares 'the biggest family-orientated festival the GCC region has ever come to know' with a focus on family values and joint activities that bring the individuals of a family together.

There is a dedicated website for this festival that is published in the Arabic language, to see it - click here.

Google offers a translation of the website into the English Language, of which you can access by clicking here.

believe it or not, I've been in Oman for 18 years and during all those years I've been to Salalah only once! This one time I was even too young =s .. about 2 years old.

Since we're not going to Sudan this summer or not traveling anywhere, we might consider going to Salalah. The weather there is definitely way better than here, in Muscat =p

I have been there quite a few times. The weather is very nice but there isn't much to do if you're into city life but if you're an environmentalist and nature lover - that would be your Heaven.

:o)

I'm giving it a miss. I've been twice, both times for work related to the festival.

The rain and camels are nice, and it's green... People are happy, and if you have a lot of friends along for the trip it you can camp and picnic to your hearts content. The maazing magical gravity defying hill was cool.

Overall the entertainment was less than enthralling, the food generally dire, and I spent the entire time being stared at and hassled by bored teenagers during the day, and bored Saudi men in the evenings. and like, I can go to Bahrain for that anytime.

IMHO, It's not worth driving 1,000 kms for.
