Corruption on the rise?
2007 Report
2006 Report
Transparency International, the Berlin based organisation, has released its annual computation of corruption across the world. Oman has dropped down the order a bit. It is ranked 53rd among the 180 nations computed by Transparency International, against 39th among 163 nations last year. Accordingly, Oman’s integrity index has marginally dropped to 4.7 from 5.4 a year ago.

Go ahead, you have all the right to presume/assume things.
Wish to meet you guys offline...so that I could clarify/explain a few issues.
PS: By your writing styles, I could guess who you both are :)
Kay - it's certainly not from people being tried for corruption!
Its based on a survey of people and diplomats doing business in Oman, and it's meant to describe the general problem of Government Officials using their powers for personal enrichment.
I'm shocked.
Good post on corruption.
